PokerStrategy.com Welcomes Thorsten77 To Team

PokerStrategy.com has just announced that Thorsten Schafer aka Thorsten77, will be joining the site as the pro team’s latest recruit.
With over 220 full time employees, 2 million members and 20,000 forum posts a day, PokerStrategy.com boasts the title of the world’s biggest poker school.
Thorsten Schafer has been a member of the site since 2006 and credits the training site with furnishing him with the necessary skills to be a top player.
Now, as part of Team PokerStrategy.com, the German high stakes pro will ‘travel the world to play in the biggest tournaments the live circuit has to offer,’ while representing the site.
Although an online cash game specialist at the NL1000 and NL5000 game, Thorsten77 has still enjoyed some live tournament success since cashing in at his first tournament in 2009. With an 8th place finish at the $5,000 6-max event at WSOP 2009, Thorsten77 walked away with a prize worth $100,230 and now has $145,912 in live tournament winnings to his name.
Online, however, Thorsten77 famously came 3rd at the 2008 ECOOP main event where he picked up an impressive $120,000 score. As Schafer explains:
“Team PokerStrategy.com is a great opportunity for me, since I haven’t played that many live events so far. I’m happy to be in the team because PokerStrategy.com helped me become successful, and I hope that I can give something back to the community now”.
Thorsten Schafer will now make his team debut representing  the site at the EPT Vilamoura in Portugal on August 28th, followed by the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event in Cannes on September 2nd. Commenting on his upcoming challenges, Schafer said:
“I will always try to do my best. If I manage to bring my best game to the table, I can be content – and it will lead to success in the long run.”
