WSOPE 2015 Main Event: Day 3 Winners And Losers
October 22, 2015 9:40 amDay 3 of the €10,450 WSOPE Main Event saw 65 players return to the action at the Spielbank Berlin. By the end of the day, that number had been reduced to just 21 hopefuls, who will now play down to a final table of six later on today.
Losers
Amongst the notable pros crashing out of the competition just short of a money spot was Henrik Hecklen, Fedor Holz, Davidi Kitai, Shannon Shorr, and Liv Boeree, who later tweeted:
“Swung the wrong way, 40th or something for zero euros #WSOPE.”
Players also sent to the rail, but with a return on their initial buy-ins, included Jason Mercier in 32nd (€20,000), who was the first player to be eliminated in a cash spot, before tweeting:
“Made the money! Was the shortest by far with 30k at 6k bb and 2 players busted at other tables simultaneously as TD decides to go hand4hand.. Busted very soon after making the money. Got 32nd.”
Other losers on the day included Elliot Smith in 29th (€20,000), Jeff Gross in 28th (€20,000), Roland Israelashvili in 27th (€20,000), Bejamin Pollak in 26th (€20,000), and Jeff Rossiter in 24th (€23,500).
Winners
Out of an original starting field of 313, a 21 player field now remain, half of which either hale from Germany (5), or the USA (4). Interestingly, all four US survivors are in the top five money spots, including chip leader Kevin MacPhee (photo) on a 1.15m stack, Andrew Lichtenberger (718k), Erik Seidel (665k), and Ardit Kurshumi (577k).
Plenty of other big name pros also remain in contention, such as Dominik Nitsche, JC Alvarado, Dimitar Danchev, Adrien Allain, and Ola Amundsgard, all of whom are guaranteed at least €23,500, but with €883,000 and a gold bracelet awaiting the eventual winner.
Day 4
The players will return to action at 12 p.m later today, and after just six players remain they will have a day off before playing down to a champion on Saturday, October 24th.
