Poker Superstar John Juanda Shows His Class At WSOP 2010
June 14, 2010 8:06 amIndonesian born poker superstar John Juanda is widely recognised as one of the best tournament players on the planet, and has so far managed to amass $10,192,406 in wins since cashing in at his first tournament in 1997.
John Juanda (39) entered his very first WSOP competition in 1999, cashing in at two Limit Hold’em events. Since then his record at the World Series of Poker reads a very impressive 4 gold winner bracelets, 53 cashes, and more than $3.75 million in tournament wins.
Three of those cashes have come at WSOP 2010, where he has continued his assault on the game and already added another $612,942 to his expanding bankroll. First up was a final table finish at the $50k Players Championship event, where he placed 4th for a $436,835 pay-out.
Next, he came 5th at the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo 8 Championships, earning $97,989 in the process, and his most recent finish in 4th place at the $10k No Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball World Championship netted him a further $78,088.
What makes Juanda’s achievements even more remarkable is the consistency of his results at the WSOP, where his poker skills never fail to take him to within of a shot of further WSOP accolades.
In 2007, for instance, John Juanda cashed five times with one final table appearance. In 2008, he cashed five times including two final tables appearances, and also won the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event in London that year. In 2009, Juanda had four cashes, making it all the way to the final table each time and this year he has continued much in the same vein.
We wish the “Team Full Tilt” member, known affectionately as either JJ or Luckbox, further extraordinary success at this year’s WSOP and we look forward to reporting on his latest endeavours.
