Loni Harwood Wins 2nd WSOP Bracelet For The Ladies At WSOP 2013

Loni Harwood Wins 2nd WSOP Bracelet For The Ladies At WSOP 2013At this year’s WSOP Dani Castaneda became the first woman since 2007 to win a gold bracelet, but just one week on and now Loni Harwood has done likewise having taken down WSOP $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em (event#60) for $609,017.
However, this was no fluke for the 23 year old New York native who not only won two WSOP circuit rings in 2012, but has also been on an incredible tear at this year’s series in Las Vegas, too. In fact, Loni Harwood had already cashed five times at this summer’s competition, including coming 4th at the $1,500 No Limit Hold’em (Event #53) for $210,456, before eventually winning her first career gold bracelet on Sunday.
After her latest victory at the Rio Casino, the talented young pro has now rocketed to 8th place on the all-time WSOP female winners list with $874,698 in earnings, and commenting on her third final table appearance at WSOP 2013, said:
“I can’t believe I won a bracelet today. It’s pretty unbelievable. Third time’s the charm..Honestly, it’s a dream come true. I’m pretty much the happiest I’ve ever been..When I first started and I won a ring, I thought it was like the biggest thing in the world. But this is like 100-times as cool.”
Since graduating from college last January, Loni Harwood has been playing poker full-time and even moved to Florida in order to play cash games, but now also moves around the country playing tournaments. Talking about how she first learnt to play the game she loves so well, Loni explained:
“My dad played online my whole life. He was very successful on PokerStars and he taught me. I just watched him for hours.”
The final table payouts were as follows:
1st: Loni Harwood – $609,017
2nd: Yongshuo Zheng – $378,607
3rd: Mika Paasonen – $267,978
4th: Yngve Steen – $193,265
5th: Asi Moshe – $141,124
6th: Daniel Cascado – $104,282
7th: Cy Williams – $78,006
8th: Bijon Notash – $59,036
9th: Hiren Patel – $45,212
