You’ll continue to see the 888poker logo on poker tables at the World Series of Poker this year.
This week 888 Holdings, who operates 888poker, announced that 888poker’s sponsorship of the WSOP will continue for the sixth consecutive year.
Under the agreement 888poker will maintain its prominent position among WSOP sponsors at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and on broadcasts carried both on TV through ESPN and online through PokerGo.
In a release 888 Holdings’ Senior Vice President of B2C Guy Cohen said
“We are very excited to be sponsoring the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas for the sixth year running. We’re proud to be longstanding partners of WSOP, the biggest and most popular poker series in the world, as part of our commitment to make poker more accessible and exciting for our customers who will be able to qualify to the biggest poker event of the year directly from 888poker’s online platform.”
888poker also retains a key incentive through the deal as the only online poker operator from authorized to allow players from outside the United States to qualify for the WSOP main event through its platform. 888poker has announced plans to run numerous promotions and tournaments that will allow players on their platform to gain access to the main event for much cheaper than the $10,000 buy-in.
Some of these tournaments with include multi-step satellite qualifiers that according to 888poker representatives could allow players to earn their way into the main event for a little as a penny.
Starting on February 23 and running until June 14, players on 888poker will have the chance to win a $15,000 WSOP 2020 MEGA package. Included in the package is $10,000 to buy-in to the main event, $888 to buy-in to the Crazy Eights tournament, and money for travel and accommodation in Las Vegas.
The 2020 WSOP main event is scheduled to begin on July 1.
