WSOPC Regional Championship 2010 Won By Jim Anderson

Jim Anderson has won the WSOP Circuit Regional Championship 2010, after defeating a field of 226 players to take down the title, and collect the $525,449 first place prize.
As the final table of nine at the $10,000 buy-in event got underway, Anderson was faced with the twin tasks of overcoming a short-stack, as well as beating a table full of pros in order to realise his tournament dreams.
First to be eliminated in 9th ($48,615) was Mark Owens who pushed on a 6d-5c-4d flop holding 5h-8h, only to be called by David Sands with pocket 8’s. Tony Hartmann then exited soon after in 8th ($60,952).
It was then the turn of Brandon Adams to depart in 7th ($77,556) after pushing his short-stack holding A-5, and  being called by David Sands with a badly dominating A-Q.
Shannon Shorr then collected a six-figure pay-out in 6th ($100,151) when his pocket J’s were called by pocket A’s, followed by Dave Sands in 5th ($131,299), who also ran into pocket A’s.
Curt Kohlberg picked up a rather healthy $174,807 in 4th, after getting into a race holding A-10 to Jim Anderson’s J-J. The board ran out K-Q-6-9-4 to eliminate Kohlberg, and bring Anderson’s stack to over 2 million and narrow the gap between himself and Gabe Patgorski’s big stack.
Gabe Patgorski with A-6 then lost a massive all-in to Anderson with pocket J’s, and after Bernard Lee ‘s pocket 10’s lost to Patgorski’s A-K and he left in 3rd place($236,368), the heads-up phase of the competition was ready to get underway.
Jim Anderson held a 5-2 advantage over Patgorski as play began but the tournament soon reached its conclusion after Patgorski picked up Ac-Jc and moved all-in pre-flop only to be called by Anderson with A-A.
Gabe Patgorski then collected $324,770 for his deep-run in the tournament, while the title of 2010 WSOPC Regional Championship Winner and an impressive $525,449 pay-out went to deserved victor Jim Anderson.
