Terry Ring Wins Heartland Poker Tour Missouri For $111,968On Monday, Terry Ring won the Heartland Poker Tour in St. Louis, Missouri, after overcoming a field of 324 players over three days to lift the title, and collect the $111,968 first-place prize. In so doing, the Iowa player has now surpassed his biggest ever score, which  came last year after taking down the MSPT Tama $1,100 Main Event for $87,694. Now with his latest victory, Ring takes his live career tournament earnings to $230,522.
The $1,650 buy-in Main Event was held at the River City Casino, and  created a prize pool worth $466,560. After the final table of nine had been set, Darryl Ronconi (A-10) eliminated a short-stacked Haris Delic (J-J) in 9th for $11,197, while soon after Trevor Renner followed suit in 8th place for $13,064.
Parminder Singh (A-A) then proceeded to dispatch Michael Hahn (J-J) to the rail in 7th ($15,770), before last year’s champion Roger Campbell saw his quest for another title end in 6th place for $18,886. Terry Ring subsequently took out Darryl Ronconi in 5th ($23,795), and after Keith Brodie fell in 4th ($31,726), and Chris Cornell in 3rd ($45,490), the heads-up phase of the competition got underway between Terry Ring and Parminder Singh.
The lengthy heads-up affair subsequently lasted 128 hands until Ring  (9-5) and Singh (8-3) got it all-in on a 9-3-2 flop. The dealer then produced a Q and Q on turn and river to consign Parminder Singh to a runner-up finish worth $67,931, while Terry Ring was crowned the  latest HPT champion.
