Stephen Chidwick Triumphs at PSC Barcelona €25K High RollerStephen Chidwick has just won the biggest score of his professional career, after taking down the 2017 PokerStars Championship Barcelona €25,500 Single Day High Roller for €690,400 ($813,144). Chidwick has also won a further $4,983,759 online playing under the screen name ‘Stevie444’.
The PSC €25,500 Single-Day High Roller was held at the Casino Barcelona, and attracted a field of 112 players resulting in a €2,744,000 ($3,231,847) prize pool. A total of 17 players subsequently received payouts, including Byron Kaverman in 15th (€45,250), Manig Loeser in 12th (€49,400), and Erik Seidel in 11th (€56,250).
At the final table, Stephen Chidwick (A-K) then proceeded to bust Vladimir Troyanovskiy (J-4) in 8th, before being dealt A-10 and doing likewise to Quan Zhou (J-9) in 5th. Chidwick (A-K) subsequently took care of Igor Yaroshevskyy (A-10) in 3rd to usher in the heads-up phase of the tournament against Bryn Kenney.
The final battle was short, though, and two hands later Bryn Kenney pushed all his chips to the centre of the table with a pair of threes, only to be called by Chidwick holding a dominating pair of eights. There was to be no great escapes, either, and 14 hours of tournament play was then swifly brought to a close with Bryn Kenney receiving €466,500 for his runner-up finish, while the title and trophy went to Stephen Chidwick.
