Shaun Deeb Wins Historic 4th Scoop TitleUS pro Shaun Deeb has made history after becoming the first player to win four titles at PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) series.
Going into this year’s competition, the Mexico-based pro had one SCOOP crown to his name dating back to 2010 when he won a $162 PLO event for $62,251. This year, however, Shaun Deeb’s tally has sky-rocketed after adding a further three title to his name including Event #10 $2,100 Seven-Card Stud for $41,600 and Event #19 $2,100 Triple Stud for $44,200. Deeb then emerged victorious at Event #26 $2,100 7 Card Stud H/L for $40,330.00 to complete this year’s remarkable hat-trick.
In his latest victory, the 26-year-old overcame a tough 74 player field which included such names as Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier, Anders Berg, Alex Kravchenko, Ville Wahlbeck and George Danzer, none of whom made the twelve man cash bubble.
Nine hours of play later, and Deeb made it through to the eight man man final table eventually defeating New Zealand’s ‘PerpCzech’ heads-up after Eugene Katchalov was eliminated in 4th for $14,060 and Brazilian Rodridgo Caprioli in 3rd for $20,720.
In total, this week Shaun Deeb has now made 7 final tables and collected 3 SCOOP titles along the way to top the SCOOP Leaderboard with 470 points. A distant 2nd is Belgium’s JRADF79 on 305, and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom tied in 3rd with 290 points. Neverhteless, the young Swede has won more money than anyone else this series after an incredible run in which he has won two titles for $438,408.
Other big names raking in the cash include Alexandre Gomes ($287,847), Martin Staszko ($129,475), Jose Barbero ($127,392), Jason Mercier ($122,482) and Phil Galfond ($120,016).
