PartyPoker Premier League IV Joined By Phil “The Unabomber” Laak

PartyPoker Premier League IV Joined By Phil “The Unabomber” LaakWith the PartyPoker Premier League IV due to get underway tomorow, Phil “The Unabomber” Laak has stepped in as a last minute replacement for the convalescing Doyle Brunson.
The Dublin born Phil Laak is always good entertainment, and with a WPT title and over $1.8 million in live tournament cashes, will no doubt provide some stern competition as well as a colourful presence to this year’s proceedings. He also seems to be on a bit of a heater having won the PartyPoker.com World Open V on the 15th October 2009 for $ 250,000, and the Poker After Dark VI nicknames week on the 11th of January 2010 for $120,000.
The Premier League is amongst the top invitational poker tournaments in the world today, and with a $100,000 buy-in is one of the most expensive. Laak is under no illusions as to the strength of the competition he will be facing and, following the announcement of his inclusion said:
“This is the most money I have ever wagered against the toughest field I have ever faced. Collectively, my opponents have over $45 million in tournament winnings, so this will be the best ride ever.”
The PartyPoker Premier League IV will take place between February 12th to 18th at the M Resort & Spa Casino in Las Vegas and the top tier line-up will include C Tran, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Roland de Wolfe, Luke Schwartz, Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Vanessa Rousso, David Benyamine and Tony G.
Commenting on his opponents, Laak said: “I hear Tony G has a bike now. I hope he doesn’t send me off on it! As for Full Flush there will be free sandwiches. Negreanu and Hellmuth…ranked two and four on the all time money list. Truly amazing. Vanessa Rousso is always thinking while Roland de Wolfe is full of sharp wit and is amazingly entertaining, always.”
