Party Poker Premier League IV Joined By David Benyamine
January 26, 2010 8:57 amFull Tilt sponsored pro David Benyamine has become the latest player to be added to the Poker Premier League IV, which is slated to get underway between the 12th – 18th February 2010 in Las Vegas.
Benyamine is a French high stakes poker player, who originally started out in professional tennis but had to quit after a shoulder injury. His competitive skills even transferred to the billiards tables, where he was considered a top ten player in France.
Benyamine is predominantly known as a cash game specialist but has now started playing in more tournaments after receiving some gentle taunting from his fellow pros. He has certainly now shown them the versatility of his skills by amassing in excess of $3,400,000 from live tournament cashes, including two WPT titles and winning a WSOP bracelet at $10,000 Omaha Hi-Low Split in 2008.
Benyamine seemed optimistic about his chances at the upcoming event, and said: “I’m delighted to be part of this world class field in this year’s Premier League. In 2010 I’m looking to play lots of tournaments and to start it off with a victory in one of poker’s most prestigious events is top of my list right now.”
The Party Poker Premier League IV is a $100,000 buy-in Main Event with a prize pool of over $1.5 million. David Benyamine now joins a line-up which includes Daniel Negreanu, Vanessa Rousso, Phil Hellmuth, JC Tran, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Roland de Wolfe, Luke Schwartz and Tony G.
Following the news of Benyamine addition to the roster, Managing Director of Matchroom Sport Eddie Hearn said: “We are delighted to welcome David into the PartyPoker.com Premier League for the first time. We now only have one invite left in this year’s event and an announcement will be made within the next few days.”
