Negreanu Finishes 2nd In SCOOP Event #6 For $15,330
May 10, 2012 1:58 pmCanadian poker pro Daniel ‘KidPoker’ Negreanu has finished runner-up in PokerStars SCOOP $1,050 NL Draw event #6 (high) for $15,330, despite initially thinking he was playing another format. Originally, the 37 year old tweeted:
“Playing my first #SCOOP2012 2-7 Single Draw NL playing all three, the $11, $109 and $1,050,” before the penny finally dropped and he re-tweeted:
“Haha OMG I have been playing the wrong game this whole time! It’s 5 card draw HIGH oops! Too funny.”
Nevertheless, it didn’t take Negreanu long to get back into the swing of things and despite crashing out of the $11 and $109 tournaments, he went on to reach the final table of the $1,050 competition. After French superstar Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier exited the six man final table in 3rd ($11,760), Negreanu went heads-up against Argentina’s ‘Maestro Shao,’ but didn’t have the best run of play, tweeting:
“Was even in the match then lost a brutal cooler both drawing 3 he made QQQ vs my JJJ. Down 3-1 in chips now.”
A little while later and it was all over, with Negreanu commenting:
“Another 2nd HA! Had him all in with KK vs JJ lost then a big one with AATT vs 444. Oh well. No more SCOOPs for me this week unfortunately.”
PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) got underway on May 6th and runs until May 20th, during which time 40 events will be played with a guaranteed prize pool of $30 million.
