MSPT Ho-Chunk Won By Josh Reichard For $78,003

Josh Reichard has won the Mid-States Poker Tour Ho-Chunk, after besting a field of 305 players over two days on his way to capturing the title, and collecting the $78,003 first place prize.
The $1,100 buy-in event attracted a good-sized field to the Ho-Chunk Casino Hotel in Baraboo, Wisconsin, to create a prize pool worth $299,800. By the time the final table of nine had been reached, Josh Reichard was the chip leader on a 1.081m stack, with clear daylight between himself and his next closest rival.
The 22-year old Wisconsin man subsequently added further to his chip count after being dealt pocket aces and scoring a double elimination over Brian Smith in 8th ($8,823) and Brett Kuznia in 7th ($10,302) on the same hand. With just three players remaining, Joshua Reichard then became involved in a huge pot when he decided to raise preflop holding 2-5 to Miroslav Semanisin’s A-10. The board subsequently produced a 4-K-5-10 board and after a 2 fell on the river Reichard  went all-in and got a call from Semanisin who was then left with a single big blind before exiting on the very next hand.
As the heads-up phase of the competition got underway, Reichard held a huge chip lead over Mark Borns and a few hands is all it would then take before the defining hand was played with Reichard shoving preflop holding Ks-Js and getting a call from his opponent with Qs-4s. The dealer then rolled out a 2-6-2-8-9 board to consign Mark Borns to a runner-up finish worth $42,681, while Josh Reichard was crowned the latest PokerNews MSPT champion.
