Minh Nguyen Wins 2016 Australian Poker Hall Of Fame Classic

Australia’s Minh Nguyen has won Event #14 of the 2016 Aussie Millions, the $1,150 Australian Poker Hall of Fame, after defeating a field of 96 players on his way to capturing the title, and collecting A$24,950 in prize money.
The tournament lasted just one day, and by the time the final table had been set, Minh Nguyen was in a commanding position as the chip leader, with Vietnam’s Linh Tran second in chips. The two players subsequently proceeded to dominate the action, with Nguyen taking care of Robert Fenner in 10th, Jack Salter in 9th, Michael Accardo in 6th, and Geoffrey Mooney in 4th.
Meanwhile, Linh Tran eliminated Gary Benson (8th), Antonina Anapolska (7th), and Roy Vandersluis (5th). Linh Tran (K-K) was then fortunate enough to send Tatjana Zizic (A-A) to the rail in 3rd, after which the heads-up phase of the competition got underway between Nguyen and Tran for the title.
As the action commenced, Minh Nguyen had almost twice the chips of his opponent, and around twenty hands would follow before a short-stacked Tran bluffed all-in holding Q-5 on a 10-9-3-3-4 board. Nguyen (9-8) made the call with second pair to conclude the event,  and so Tran had to settle for a runner-up finish worth A$16,630, while Minh Nguyen was crowned the champion, and also received a LK Boutique Aussie Millions Championship ring for his efforts.
Final Table Results:
1 Minh Nguyen (Aus) $24,950
2 Linh Tran (Vietnam) $16,630
3 Tatjana Zizic (Serbia) $11,090
4 Geoffrey Mooney (Aus) $9,240
