ISPT Now To Take Place At Wembley Conference Centre, Instead

ISPT Now To Take Place At Wembley Conference Centre, InsteadLast year, the International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT) announced its ambitious project to launch a mega-tournament at London’s Wembley Stadium from June 1st through to June 5th, 2013.
Since then, a lack of interest for the event that hoped to attract enough players to award a €10 million first place prize has been wholly underwhelming, and so the ISPT has announced several key changes to the tournament over the past months. Now, in perhaps one of the most surprising changes so far, the International Stadiums Poker Tour has announced the competition will no longer even be taking place in a stadium at all, but instead at the nearby Wembley Conference Centre, instead.
Despite all the marketing up until now showing ISPT ambassadors standing around on the Wembley terraces, in the long run this change in venue may be necessary to help avert the potentially stark site of watching just a couple of poker tables conspicuously placed in the centre of the huge Wembley Stadium football pitch come the last days of the event.
There is also the question of low attendances to consider, especially with three of the five scheduled online Day 1As having been cancelled recently due to a lack of interest. Unfortunately, Poker770, Lock Poker, and Partouche.be have so far failed to attract the level of interest to ensure the tournament will be a success and Tournament Director Stephen McLean has let it slip that more changes were still on their way, including introducing new partner to promote the tournament. The potential list could even include such sites as Dusk till Dawn, Ladbrokes, Bet365, Party Poker and maybe even the  iPoker network. For the moment, though, the original partners are  continuing to offer €300 qualifiers online to the €3,000 buy-in mega-tournament, with players able to enter as many of the various Day 1s as they like.
