Full Tilt FTOPS XX Still Thrilling Despite US Online Ban

The Full Tilt online poker series known as FTOPS was established in August 2006 and is held roughly every three months.
Now in its 20th installment, the tournament series originally boasted a $38 million prize-pool across 45 events, but this amount was subsequently reduced to $13 million in the wake of ‘Black Friday.’

With 33 events already played, the winners so far have included 6 Scandinavians, 5 Canadians, 5 Russians and 4 Germans, as well as a smattering of other countries.
Scooping the biggest prize thus far was Andriy “imperior” Pavlyuk (Ukraine) for $205,500 in event#24, with Germany’s DQnk not far behind with $174,977 after winning event#1.
Canada’s Sorel “Imper1um” Mizzi may not have won an event at FTOPS XX yet but the online prodigy has still managed to cash in at an incredible 13 events, including making 5 final tables for $61,426.
Other notable names cleaning up at FTOPS XX also include winners Peter Jetten ($94,500),  Nik “Clairv0yant1” Persaud ($9,496), Dominik “bastet2004” Stopka ($73,920), and high-stakes cash regular NoPasaran ($81,652).
Another player bringing home the goods this time around is Australian online whizz Jonathan ‘xMONSTERxDONGx’ Karamalikis, who has just taken down Event #33: $322 NL 6-Max Rebuy for a $62,500 pay-day.
Karamalikis managed to overcome a field of 215 players on his way to victory and with just 12 players remaining he was so confident of winning that he tweeted:
“Twitter (@xMONSTERxDONGx) warning us of an impending victory, “The Dong currently chipleader of the FTOPS 300r with two tables left. Jump on the rail now!”
With his latest triumph, Karamalikis has now taken his online earnings since 2007 to an impressive $2,701,610.
With just 12 events left now, this is still turning out to be a thrilling Full Tilt Online Poker Series, despite the reduced numbers due to a lack of US players.
