Farid Jattin Wins 2017 Winter Poker Open Main Event
December 21, 2017 1:40 pmThe 2017 Winter Poker Open Tampa got underway on December 7th, with the series reaching the conclusion of its six tournament schedule with its $1,650 Main Event. A total of 671 players then entered the event to create a prize pool double its $500,000 guarantee, and following four days of action it was Farid Jattin who would eventually walk away with the title, and a first place prize of $241,651.
As a result of his victory, Jattin further consolidate his position as Colombia’s all-time poker money winner with $2,486,340 in live earnings, and commenting after his latest triumph in Florida, stated:
“I feel like I put up a really good performance. I was really, really focused the whole time.. I ran pretty good, but I felt like I played amazing. I don’t feel like I made any big mistakes”
Jattin began Day 2 as the chip leader, and was able to maintain his pole position all the way throughout Day 3 going into the final table. In fact, Jattin only relinquished his lead briefly during heads-up play against Witold Wassik before ultimately vanquishing his remaining opponent to claim the title.
Furthermore, the biggest score of his career came just two days before his 29th birthday, and as he explains:
“It’s been a while. I’m there all the time. For the volume that I put in, I’m very, very consistent and I don’t get the wins. I’m just really happy I got the win finally.”
In addition to his live winnings, Farid Jattin has also amassed a further $1,413,609 online playing under the screen name Farid1221x.
