David Packer Wins Concord Million Vienna

David Packer Wins Concord Million ViennaIn December, the €550 buy-in Concord Million event attracted 2,193 players to the Concord Card Casino in Vienna to create a prize pool worth €1,096,500 ($1,346,803), and after three days of action it was David Packer who emerged atop the huge field to claim the title, as well as the €200,000 ($245,655) first place prize.
By the time the final table of ten had been reached Stefan Schlacher was the chip leader, but could only manage a 7th place finish (€21,500) after being eliminated by Markus Dürnegger. Following Danijel Jovanovic’s elimination in 6th (€27,500), and György Hetei’s exit in 5th (€35,000), the remaining four players then agreed a deal in which Markus Dürnegger secured €140,000, David Packer €120,100, Alexander Rettenbacher €100,000, and Akser Osak €65,000, with a further €10,100 set aside for the eventual winner.
David Packer (K-Q) then proceeded to eliminate Rettenbacher (A-A) on a K-4-6-7-K board, and soon after Packer’s pocket two’s were good enough to see off Akser Osak (A-8) in 3rd (€65,000) to go heads-up against Markus Dürnegger for the title.
Following a hard-fought final battle, the deciding hand was eventually played with Packer (4h-6h) going all-in on a 2h-6d-10h-5c board, only to be called by his opponent with (6h-6c). Fortunately for David Packer the river produced a 3h to complete his flush, thus consigning Markus Dürnegger to a runner-up finish, while Packer was awarded the Concord Million title.
Final Table Results:
1st David Packer        €130,100
2nd Markus Dürnegger    €140,000
