Chris Moorman Hits $15M Mark in Online MTT Winnings

Chris Moorman has been atop of online poker tournament’s ‘all-time money list’ for longer than anyone can remember, and ever so often the poker community gets to learn of yet another milestone event recorded by the UK pro. In September 2013, for instance, he became the first player to surpass $10 million in career online earnings, while in November 2017 he beat his own record by picking up an unprecedented 26th Online Triple Crown.

Last weekend, the British professional who now lives in Las Vegas, subsequently extended his online winnings to more than $15 million, with the feat accomplished after taking down the WSOP.com $25,000 Weekly Sunday for $16,929. As the 33-year old pro tweeted after his latest victory:

“Just won the @WSOPcom $500 6 max to eclipse $15 million in online cashes. Nice way to close out the summer grind @888poker #grindonthemind #6maxlax #888poker.”

Since then, Moorman has added a further $4,345 to his winnings, and according to PocketFives is showing $15,021,323 in total online cashes since joining the tournament tracking site all the way back in 2006.

WSOP.com $25,000 Weekly Sunday

The WSOP.com $25,000 Weekly Sunday cost $500 to enter, and attracted 71 entrants and 53 rebuys to create a prize pool of $58,374. One of them was Chris Moorman, playing under the screen name Robotbob47, who following five hours of play managed to defeat his final opponent, Chipman1728, to claim its top prize and push his career earnings past $15 million.

Impressively, this was his third individual win online since the start of June, the others including a victory on the WSOP NJ Network’s $15,000 Weekly Friday [Re-entry, 6 Max] for $6,780, and on the Winning Poker Network’s $15,000 GTD – Turbo MEGA STACK for $3,450.

Winnings Across All Sites

Moorman has played on numerous sites over the years, but $7,906,743, or roughly half of his lifetime winnings have been amassed on PokerStars, followed by Full Tilt ($3,842,110), PartyPoker ($1,047,703), and WPN ($607,560).

888Poker Ambassador

In June 2016, 888poker Ambassador recruited Moorman to represent the brand as a sponsored pro, and to date he has $328,066 in winning showing on the site. The following year, the 888poker Ambassador then attended the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, and instantly attracted positive publicity on the site after capturing his first gold bracelet. Moorman had taken part in Event #27: $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Handed, eventually managing to overcome its 959 player field to claim a coveted bracelet, as well as a first place prize of $498,682.

This year, Moorman was back in action at the WSOP, and was named the captain of the United Kingdom for 888poker’s 8-Team Competition, with his other team mates including Niall Farrell and Billy Chattaway. Whichever team lasted longest in the WSOP Main Event was to receive a WSOP ME package through to next year’s tournament.

The UK subsequently managed to earn 400 points to win the competition, with nearest rival Brazil on 260 points, followed by Russia on 160, and then Spain (50), Canada (40), Germany (30), and Sweden (30). Helping the UK on its was was a 273rd finish by Moorman in the Main Event for $42,980, with the pro also picking up extra bonus points for being the chip leader of the surviving players on Days 3 and 4. As Moorman commented after besting his rival 888 teams to win the competition:

“As the Captain of the team I really wanted to win the 8-team challenge. I’m feeling confident for next year and hopefully we can go all the way again.”

Needless to say, Moorman is equally as adept live as he is online, and currently boasts a further $5,619,090 in live winnings, including finishing runner-up at the 2011 WSOP Europe Main Event for €800,000 ($1,068,690). In 2014, he also claimed victory at the $10,000 No Limit Hold’em – WPT LA Poker Classic Main Event, making his way past 534 players on his way to claiming its $1,015,460 top prize.
