Bob Chow Wins HPT Majestic Star Casino For $171,534

Bob Chow Wins HPT Majestic Star Casino For $171,534Bob Chow has won the Heartland Poker Tour Majestic Star Casino, after besting a field of 520 players over three days on his way to capturing the title, and collecting the $171,534 first place prize. With his latest victory in Indiana the 53-year-old now takes his live career earnings to $661,080 since his first cash back in 2008.
The $1,650 event attracted a good-sized field to the Majestic Star Casino in Gary to create a prize pool worth $745,800. By the time the final table of nine was reached Bob Chow was out in front as the chip leader and would then proceed to eliminate five of his remaining opponents on his way to taking down the tournament.
Almost 10 hours after the final table got underway, Bob Chow would eventually face-off against Vu Huang, albeit at a 3 to 2 chip disadvantage. Nevertheless, twenty-nine hands is all it would subsequently take for Chow to overcome and eliminate his final opponent, with the defining hand coming after he went all-in holding Qd-9d on an Ad-7d-2c flop, only to be called by Huang with 4d-3d. Both players subsequently made their flushes when a Jd fell on the river, but Chow’s was best to claim the Heartland Poker Tour title.
Following his remarkable victory, Bob Chow took the opportunity to heap praise on the popular Heartland Poker Tour, commenting: “The new structure is a tremendous structure for this type of tournament, plenty of play.”
The final table payouts were as follows:
1 Bob Chow– $171,534
2 Vu Huang – $104,859
3 Bruce Knee – $69,509
4 Darryl Ronconi – $48,328
5 Joe Wilson – $36,171
6 David Gutfreund – $27,968
7 Mike Deis – $22,747
8 Thomas Schrepfer – $18,645
