Amanda Heidbrick Triumphs At WSOPC Horseshoe HammondThe WSOP Circuit has just entered its 12th season, with the popular poker tour kicking-off proceedings at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana. A total of 12 events will be awarding gold rings for its winners, and picking up the first accolade on Sunday, October 18th was Amanda Heidbrick, who took down Event #1: $365 No-Limit Hold’em Reentry for an impressive payday of $101,190. Commenting on her victory, Amanda Heidbrick explained:
“It feels great. I just felt I was running good on Friday and I was hoping to continue to run good.”
A total of 2,211 players entered the $365 tournament to create a prize pool worth $663,300. Amongst the better known players subsequently cashing in at one of the 225 money spots was Wendy Freedman in 196th ($776), Joe Hebda in 104th ($995), Aaron Wallace in 84th ($1,187), Cory Waaland in 76th ($1,293), Fadi Hamad in 23rd ($4,139), Josh Turner in 15th ($7,170), and Ryan Jones in 14th ($7,170).
On Day 4, Amanda Heidbrick then entered the final table as the chip leader, and eventually managed to progress all the way through to three-handed play on a 69bb stack. There she faced off against Seth Michael (25bb), and Shane Thorne (16bb) for the title, and continuing her impressive run, Heidbrick was able to close out her final two opponents to secure her first live tournament victory.

The WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Hammond is scheduled to run until Monday, October 26, with the $1,675 Main Event taking place on the 24th, and the $5,300 High Roller the following day. The casino, located just 20 minutes from Chicago, first opened in 1996 and currently boasts 3,000 slot machines and 100 table games.
