Abraham Korotki Wins Borgata Spring Poker Open For $256k

Abraham Korotki Wins Borgata Spring Poker Open For $256kNew Jersey native Abraham Korotki has won the 2014 Borgata Spring Poker Open Championship, after overcoming a field of 414 players over four days on his way to capturing the trophy, and collecting the $256,508 first place prize.
Back in 2006, Korotki won the WSOPC $10k Harrah’s Atlantic City Championship Event for $433,008, followed by the $2k Limit Hold’em Borgata Summer Open for $122,100. Korotki’s more recent win occurred last year at the $660 Six Max Borgata Summer Poker Open for $22,698, but perhaps his strangest win took place once more at the Borgata casino after taking down the $300 Ladies Event for $20,982. With his latest victory in Atlantic City, NJ, Korotki now takes his live tournament earnings to $1,029,550, and apparently his four Borgata victories are only surpassed by Will Failla with five titles.
Heaping praise on his favourite gambling venue, the Borgata casino, Abraham Korotki, said: “I’m very happy to win this tournament. This is the world’s best casino, because players from all over the world come to play.”
By the time the final table of nine had been reached, Laurence Wolf was the chip leader and when just six players remained Wolf still lead the pack. Chalie Hook (9-9) then proceeded to eliminate Paul Spitzberg (A-8) in 6th ($47,688), after which Robson Barbosa (A-9) did likewise to Jake Toole in 5th for $57,225. Chalie Hook subsequently bowed out in 4th ($72,786), while Abraham Korotki eliminated Robson Barbosa in 3rd ($90,356) to force heads-up play against Laurence Wolf for the title.
A short while later, Korotki made an all-in preflop move from the button holding 9-4, only to be called by Wolf. The dealer subsequently rolled out a 7-4-7-4-A board to consign Laurence Wolf to a runner-up finish worth $148,083, while Korotki was crowned the champion.
