Bodog To Sponsor Soccer Team LA Galaxy (David Beckham)

Online gambling site Bodog has announced it has just signed an advertising deal with the USA’s most famous soccer team, the LA Galaxy.
The highly regarded LA Galaxy is one of the most successful teams in the league and are currently in top place in the western Conference. The club has also won the Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup twice in 2002 and 2005 and the CONCACAF Champions League in 2000.
More recently, the club made headlines in 2007 when it signed a $250 million deal with English superstar David Beckham and now Bodog are hoping to capitalise on the success of LA Galaxy by having its branding displayed all around its 27,000 seater stadium.
As Global PR Director at BodogBrand.com. Ed Pownall explains:
“Both the LA Galaxy and Bodog brands are recognized around the globe, making this partnership not only mutually beneficial, but a perfect synergy across the United States and beyond. The fantasy sports industry has grown exponentially in recent years and is showing no signs of stopping, and soccer, with its many dimensions, offers itself perfectly to fantasy sports games.”
Bodog are no strangers to soccer sponsorship and already have a three year deal in place with English Premier League team Fulham, which they signed last year.
In the meantime, fresh from their latest deal with LA Galaxy, Bodog have also entered into an agreement with another major sports team in the guise of the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Edmonton Oilers.Speaking about the decision to sponsor the team Patrik Selin, CEO of Bodog Europe was keen to point out his love for the game and commented:
“The Edmonton Oilers are ingrained in the fabric of the sport I have followed all my life. As a Swede, hockey is near and dear to my heart and we are sure that our first season with the Oilers will be a great one for us and the team. We are in this deal as fans of the game not just as commercial sponsors.”
Bodog was founded in 1994 as an online gambling business and is now one of the most recognisable brands in the industry.
