RealGaming.com Now Officially Nevada’s Third iPoker Site

RealGaming.com Now Officially Nevada’s Third iPoker SiteSouth Point Casino’s online poker site RealGaming.com started its “soft-launch” phase back in February this year, and after 8 months of trials and testing the website has now officially become the state of Nevada’s third regulated iPoker site, together with WSOP.com and Ultimate Poker.
During its testing period the site had continually been monitored by Nevada state regulators, who by last week finally recommended that the Nevada Gaming Commission gave RealGaming.com the go-ahead to launch its full brand offering.
Interestingly, SouthPointPoker.com, as RealGaming.com was known when it originally launched its free-to-play poker site in 2011, became Nevada’s first online poker website to be given a remote gambling license in 2012. However, the site subsequently had to  iron out a number of technical issues before being allowed to progress beyond the trial period, and as pokersites.com reporter Jason Reynolds explains:
“The delay may have been due to the fact that, unlike its competitors, Real Gaming developed its proprietary software completely in-house, which meant it required more stringent regulatory testing. Ultimate Gaming, which beat its competitors by releasing a simple product that allowed it to get into the market first, purchased CyberArts software in order to build its platform, while WSOP.com uses software developed by 888.com.”
Following news of the site’s green light for full launch, Real Gaming CEO Lawrence Vaughan said that the Gaming Control Board were satisfied RealGaming.com had sorted out its player verification and geolocation issues, as required by Nevada law.
RealGaming.com is now offering a range of promotions as it tries to wrestle market share away from its other two competitors, including a “High Hand of the Hour” cash prize bonus of between $5 and $100, and a “Quadzilla” promotion which awards players a cash prize of between $5 and $50 for anyone making four-of-a-kind with just their starting pocket pair. Furthermore, anyone winning these promotions and announcing the news via Twitter or Facebook will be rewarded with more money.
It will be interesting to see just how successful RealGaming.com’s marketing push will prove, as currently WSOP.com is Nevada’s market leader with an average of 85 cash game players over a week, followed by Ultimate Poker with just 55 cash game players over the same period. Conversely, RealGaming.com is currently showing no cash game players and a 24 hour peak of just 3 players, according to PokerScout.
