Poker Tweets from the 2017 WSOP Europe (Week 3)

Hellmuth, Yong and TsoukernikSince kicking off on October 19th, four WSOP Europe events have been completed, with another seven left to play before the series concludes on November 10th. In the meantime, some of the poker pros have been tweeting about their experiences so far while playing at the King’s Casino in Czech Republic.
One of them is Phil Hellmuth, who has recorded two cashes so far, including finishing Event #2: €550 Pot-Limit Omaha in 45th place for €940 ($1,107), and Event #3: €1,100 NLHE Super Turbo Bounty in 11th for €2,554 ($3,004). As Hellmuth tweeted from the Series:
“Now I remember what’s what it’s like to sleep 13 hours. Working hard at #WSOPE, making lots of deep runs! Tiring…Today: Pot Limit Omaha”
It’s fair to say that one person who is not a great fan of the 14-times WSOP bracelet winner, though, is William Delaney, whose twitter page introduces him as an experienced Irish drinking companion “available for story telling, singing and dancing”. As he subsequently wrote responding to Hellmuth’s tweet:
“..your grinding is inflicting brain death on fans, get some balls be BRAVE. Deep runs? what a wally you are hanging on to make at best min cash. Grinding for hours demonstrating a predictable style. Amateur play.”
Making it through to a final table, however, is Allen Kessler who is just one of just six players remaining in Event 6: €2,200 Pot-Limit Omaha. Kessler is still chasing a career first bracelet, and his impressive run subsequently elicited the following bemused response from poker writer James Guill, who in keeping with the Haloween holiday wrote:
“The apocalypse watch is on – @AllenKessler made a WSOP Europe final table.”
In the meantime, Kevin MacPhee, who won the 2015 WSOPE €10,450 Main Event in Germany for €883,000 ($1,001,577), is already excited about the prospect of winning back-to-back main events, and as recently tweeted:
“Off to @PokerroomKings for the @WSOP Europe main event! I’ve heard good things about this place & I am super pumped to “defend” my title”
Others
Here are some other non-WSOP Europe related tweets coming from the poker community over the past few days:
Jason Mercier
“The shirt says it all ….”
Barry Greenstein
“I get up to get food and Bregman hits a homerun that I think hit my empty seat. How smart can you be to pay $8 for smartwater?”
Partypoker
“We did it! We won the Poker Operator of the Year award at the @EGRIntel #EGRAwards last night! http://ow.ly/ZI7w30gasfo”
