Partypoker Makes Huge Strides Forward in 2017

Partypoker Makes Huge Strides Forward in 2017Launched in 2001, Partypoker subsequently grew to become the world’s largest online poker room by 2006 until it was forced to quit the US market that year after the country passed its Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA). The following years then saw Partypoker lose a considerable amount of market share to competitors as the brand’s popularity declined, although it did manage to stay relevant on account of its high-profile partnership with the World Poker Tour (WPT).
This year, however, has seen the site make huge leaps in reestablishing itself as a major brand, and currently Partypoker sits at number three on PokerScout’s ‘Online Poker Traffic Report’ with a 24-hour peak of 2,174 cash game players.
One of the main reasons for Partypoker’s impressive turnaround is its greater focus on listening to the feedback of its players before making fundamental changes to its products. A special team was even set up to handle this process headed by Partypoker sponsored pro Patrick Leonard, while the brand also took the opportunity to end its partnership arrangement with the WPT and launch its own partypoker LIVE tournament series. Commenting on the success of the new tour, Tom Waters, the Managing Director of partypoker, acknowledged the transformative contribution made by the brand’s new chairman of partypoker, John Duthie, stating:
“John has had a huge impact in developing partypoker LIVE this year. He has vast experience in the field and always puts the player first. This has led to key decisions being made to ensure the tour focused on quality and player experience.”
Partypoker’s success was equally mirrored online, and in addition to redesigning its lobby and tables based upon player feedback, and launching a 24-hour Customer Support line via Skypeit, it also introduced a number of attractive bonus schemes, including the Diamond Club. Ultimately, these and other innovations helped the site reach a new level of appreciation within the industry and as a result it received the 2017 EGR Poker Operator of the Year Award, an accolade which PokerStars had been recognized with for the previous three years.
