Partypoker Joins Twitch Movement

Partypoker is the world’s 5th busiest poker room, with the site currently ranked just below PokerStars’ Italian offering, according to the tracking website PokerScout. Partypoker’s position is a far cry from its pre-UIGEA days when it was a global leader in the industry, but the site is now hoping to make up some lost ground on its rivals by launching its own dedicated Twitch channel.
With its latest move Partypoker is aiming to bump up its traffic by adding a new stream of players from the gaming world. Furthermore, by showcasing some of poker’s brightest stars as they set about plying their trade online, Partypoker is hoping to entertain, educate, and ultimately inspire them into taking up the game themselves.
On October 11th, Partypoker subsequently kicked-off its new twitch channel by streaming a session with top UK pro Patrick Leonard, with the event having initially been billed as an opportunity to get “inside the mind of one of the world’s best poker players, listen to their thought processes, figure out how they put opponents on hands, watch them run huge bluffs and make profitable value bets.”
Viewers were subsequently treated to the sight of Patrick Leonard talking strategy and analyzing the play as he took part in a session across four tables, and at a variety of different buy-ins. Moreover, in the future viewers will be able to enjoy further free poker training experience on a regular basis as Partypoker will be airing similar streams by its team of sponsored pros, which includes the likes of Beata “Wildhungarian” Jambrik, and Natalia “N4talB” Breviglieri.
Over the past year, several major poker sites have launched their own poker streams, and while a little late to the show, Partypoker now has the opportunity to be part of a platform which currently boasts more than 100 million monthly users.
