Carl Froch Signed As New PartyPoker Ambassador

Carl Froch Signed As New PartyPoker AmbassadorThe last time Carl Froch fought was in May 2014, with the four-time super-middleweight champion subsequently announcing his retirement from boxing in July 2015. After fourteen years in the sport, the 38 year-old Nottingham fighter said that he had “nothing left to prove”, and was looking forward to new challenges. A few months later, and the man considered to be the UK’s best British pound for pound boxer has now landed a sponsorship deal to become PartyPoker’s new brand ambassador.
As part of his duties, the boxing legend will help promote PartyPoker’s new ‘Power Series’, which forms part of the site’s ‘Poker for the People‘ campaign, and is designed to offer various multi-table tournaments that will appeal to poker players with all different sized bankrolls. Many of these tournaments now have boxing related titles, such as The Jab, The Right Hook, and The Weigh-in, and following his appointment, Golan Shaked, Director of Games, said:
“The new Power Series guarantees are the next step in our Poker for the People strategy, creating a format that is easily accessible to all, with knockout value for every level of player. It’s great to have Carl on board, he is one of the World’s best sportsmen and bringing his competitive spirit to the poker table will be a great test for our players.”
During his illustrious boxing career, Carl Froch won 33 out of his 35 fights, and since retiring has cashed in two poker tournaments, including winning a £1,250 buy-in 8 person event called ‘Beat The Boss’ for £3,500 ($5,508). On December 13th, Froch will also take part in a special $100,000 guaranteed online tournament in which the top 99 players competing in the Power Series will get a chance to compete against Frock for a share of the prize money. It seems Frock is determined to make his mark on that game, too, and commenting ahead of the special tournament explained:
“I’ve been mentally preparing for this tournament just the same as any of my world title fights – I intend to win and as the Ambassador for partypoker I best not let the side down! I love the new partypoker guarantees and hope it will attract a new audience to playing poker online. ‘Poker for the People’ is what we’re aiming for, anyone can have a go, and if you fancy your luck against me then bring it on, I’ll see you at the table in December!”
