Vanessa Selbst Winnings Hit $8m After Latest Victory In LondonUS poker player Vanessa Selbst has been on an incredible roll this year, and just a few weeks after finishing runner-up at the WPT $3,300 Borgata Poker Open Main for a $492,569 payday, the 29-year-old has now taken down the UKIPT £2000 High Roller Event in London for £67,499 ($109,443), thus pushing her live tournament earnings past the $8 million mark.
At the scene of her latest triumph, Vanessa Selbst bested a field of 176 players over two days in the UK capital, eventually defeating Max Silver heads-up to claim the top prize. Commenting later on her remarkable victory, Selbst subsequently tweeted:
“I’ve been feeling really confident about my game lately. I wasn’t feeling like that in the World Series. I felt that I underperformed there but in the last few months I really feel like I’ve been playing my A game so it feels nice to have results that reflect that.”

However, outside of Martin Finger taking down the £50,000 EPT Super High Roller for £821,000, Vanessa Selbst wasn’t the only big name enjoying a successful EPT/UKIPT, as 13-times WSOP winner Phil Hellmuth overcame a small field of 21 players at the EPT/UKIPT £2000 Open Face Chinese Poker event to win his first ever EPT title, and collect the £15,800 ($25,618) first-place prize.
Following his latest triumph, the 49 year-old pro tweeted: “Hit EPT London tourney area right off the plane–w no sleep and drinking a bit. @JasonMercier says he’s in OFC tourn: I hop and win it!”
