Top Poker Tweets: Mercier's Costly WSOP!

Top Poker Tweets: Mercier's Costly WSOP!Jason Mercier had a 2016 WSOP to remember after capturing 2 WSOP bracelets, not to mention cleaning up on the side-bet action against some of his fellow pros. This year, however, the high-achieving player recorded a total of 10 cashes for $143,673, representing a major disappointment as far as the 30 year-old Florida pro is concerned, and one that he would rather forget.
Unfortunately, Jason Mercier got a rude reminder after recently unpacking his backpack from his summer spent in Vegas, and as he subsequently tweeted:
“U know you had a bad summer when u empty your backpack out weeks after and find a bunch of these at the bottom”
It didn’t take long a number of pros and twitter followers to chime in with their opinions, though, and here are some of the choice messages:
Matt Glantz
“Sorry to say bro, we might have finally found the answer to #whenwillitend”
Nomerci
“I know the feeling.. been running bad for like 6 months :/ lol suckouts after suckouts.. oh well what can you do right?”
renegade K
“You know your life sucks when you never have one of these… stay positive mofo”
Ian Shirreffs
“KARMA for never replying to me after I give you respect and good luck all the time!! #YouAreNoBetterThanAnyoneElse”
While Mercier has been decrying his recent lack of fortune at the poker tables, some other pros appear to me more concerned with how they look at the tables, including the legend Doyle Brunson and his son Todd:
Doyle Brunson
“I can’t believe how old people my age look/are.. Watch poker after dark next week and you will see a crippled old man.”
Todd Brunson
Hey @kenneybaden Someone inferred I look like @MeanShaunDeeb Do I have grounds for a law suit for slander or libel? Emotionally damaged”
Cate Hall also had a few barbs hurled at her after a piece of hand analysis involving her was posted online, and as she subsequently tweeted:
“Sometimes you win the hand by not reading the comments section”
Doug Polk then chimed in with:
“The comments were particularly bad in that one. Most people get attacked tho, I get made fun of for being fat/my hair/my clothes everyday.”
Finally, PNIA threw out a suggestion that wouldn’t quite make it onto most peoples celebrity match-up lists, tweeting:
“How much money would you pay to watch a wrestling match between @AllenKessler and @MattGlantz”
to which the ever scathing Shaun Deeb shot back with:
“One of the few matchups Glantz would have more hair than”

One of the stories to emerge from the 2017 World Series of Poker had nothing to do with winning a coveted gold bracelet, but instead involved a multi-million dollar dispute between King’s Casino owner Leon Tsoukernik and Aussie poker pro Matt Kirk, with the latter accusing the former of stiffing him out of $2 million

Doug Polk and Dan Bilzerian are both cryptocurrency investors with large social media followings, although this week there emerged some pretty serious differences between their approaches to digital asset. Whereas Polk prefers a long term approach to investing, Bilzerian seems to favor dipping in and out of the market depending upon whatever coin prices may
