Team Pokerstars Joined By Jason Mercier

Jason Mercier, the 22 year old tournament specialist from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA is the newest recruit to the Team PokerStars Pros.
Jason “treysfull21?” Mercier managed to earn over $3.3 million in tournament winnings in just one year and just a few weeks ago added to his success by  winning his first World Series of Poker bracelet when he took down the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha event. He now says he is looking forward to adding to his success by being part of one of the biggest sites in online poker.
“Becoming a member of Team PokerStars Pro means a lot to me. I’m so excited to be playing for the site I first started playing on. I feel like this solidifies my standing as one of the top poker players’ around.” said Mercier.
The PokerStars deal usually provides financial security for the player in return for the player wearing the PokerStar logo at many of the top tournaments in the world, such as the WSOP and EPT. “I’m looking forward to going to Barcelona and London this year,” Mercier said. “Before the deal I wasn’t sure if I was going to go.”
He will also be required to play a required amount of  hours online and has acknowledged that he will have to re adjust to the online grind having recently concentrated on live tournament play.This will give players the opportunity to compete against the young 22 year old sensation.
Mercier said that Pokerstars was the ideal choice for him and explained “I’m friends with a decent amount of the team pros already and I’m friends with a bunch of people who work for PokerStars, so I’m really looking forward to developing those friendships more as well as travelling and making new friends”.
Jason first started playing poker when he was 15 while studying Mathematicss at college. After he realised he had a talent for the game he started playing full time online, multi-tabling $2/4 and $3/6 no-limit Hold’em.
