Sweden's Gaming Operator Signs Poker Pros Anton Wigg and Michael Tureniec

Sweden’s state-owned online gaming operator Svenska Spel has just announced the signing of Swedish poker pros Michael Tureniec and Anton Wigg.
The two formidable pros will now join William Thorsson in representing Svenska Spel’s online poker room, with brand manager Martin Bengtsson commenting:
“It is our task to create a positive image of Swedish poker and this work means it is our duty to constantly develop and improve our poker. We see the recruitment of Michael and Anton as yet another stage in this work.”
The three young players are amongst Sweden’s poker elite, as testified by their
impressive results. William Thorson, 28, has earned $2,355,155 from live tournaments and a further $706,930 playing online, while Michael Tureniec, 25, has earned $2,791,682 live and $847,367 online, and Anton Wigg, 25, $983,319 live and $1,289,281 from online tournaments.
The players will now be seen as instrumental in enhancing the reputation and technical expertise of Svenska Spel, while ensuring its poker room becomes known as the online home of Swedish poker.
Elaborating further on what the addition of Tureniec, Wigg and Thorsson meant to Svenska Spel, brand manager Martin Bengtsson said:
“They are our new poker ambassadors and, in addition to being visible in our online poker software, they will be involved in working on developing poker in Sweden together with Thorson and ourselves. We need to listen more and be closer to our players and I hope that Michael and Anton can support us in that dialogue.”
For their part, Michael Tureniec and Anton Wigg will likely be seen at a lot more poker competitions in the future, helping to add to their already impressive tournament results. They also said they were now looking forward to representing the company, and stated:
“This will be real fun and inspiring. We both see travelling around Sweden and the world and playing tournaments and representing Svenska Spel as an honour.”
