Spragg and Hand Recruited to Team PokerStars Online

Spragg and Hand Recruited to Team PokerStars OnlineJust a few days after PokerStars announced the addition of Jeff Gross to Team PokerStars Pro, the world’s biggest poker room has now added another couple of pros, this time as members of its Team Online, namely UK pro Ben “Spraggy” Spragg, and Irishman Fintan “EasywithAces” Hand.
As part of their duties, the duo will now provide a daily live stream at 1:00 p.m. BST via the PokerStars Twitch Channel, with both players already having built up a loyal following of around 18,000 Twitch followers each. This naturally makes them an ideal fit for the brand’s goal of appealing to a generation of younger people and video gamers looking for an entertaining and personal way to learn about the popular card game from its successful players.
Commenting upon what it means to be recruited by PokerStars, and what he hopes to achieve through his live streams, Ben Spragg (photo left) explained that the emphasis has to be on engaging the audience in a fun and entertaining way. Elaborating further, Spragg said that as a professional it was all too easy to lose sight of the game’s fun element while grinding out a living, stating:
“As a member of the team I want to help people enjoy poker again, win or lose. I would love for the online poker experience to be as fun as those games I played in the garage with my friends. If I can help bring a new audience of players into the game and have them find the passion for it that I did I will consider it a job well done.”
Meanwhile, Fintan Hand described the deal with PokerStars as the pinnacle of his career, and something that has made all his year’s of grinding worthwhile.
Fintan and Spragg now join a roster of professional players at PokerStars which includes the likes of Lex Veldhuis, Jaime Staples, Randy Lew, Mikhail Shalamov, Adrienne Rowsome, Felix Schneiders, and Kevin Martin.
