Sascha 'locodice' Walter Joins Team PKR
December 5, 2010 10:07 amA 25 year old online poker pro from Stuttgart, named Sascha ‘locodice’ Walter, has become the first German player to join Team PKR Pro.
Innovative 3-D poker room PKR is aiming to expand further into the German speaking market and it is hoped that the addition of the young cash specialist will help bring the site closer to that aim.
“It’s fantastic to welcome another member to PKR Team Pro,” commented PKR’s Marketing Director, Simon Prodger. “We have a large German community and we look forward to Sascha representing them at the tables.”
Sascha started playing at PKR in April 2007, and became a full-time pro around a year ago after finishing his university degree in Sports Management. Now, his poker career has hit another milestone after becoming a sponsored pro at his favourite site, which recently received the E-Gaming Review Award of Poker Operator of the Year 2010.
Commenting on his signing, Sascha ‘locodice’ Walter said:
“It’s a great honor to be selected as the newest member of Team PKR Pro; I look forward to showcase my skills in live events such as the EPT Berlin and the WSOP representing PKR and the growing German community.”
In his early career, Sascha Walter specialised in Sit & Go’s before building up his bankroll and then discovering a penchant for cash games. He now plays up to $3/$6 No Limit Hold’em and £2/$4 Pot Limit Omaha, where he makes a good living.
However, Sascha Walter explains that although the money is nice, he hasn’t set any financial goals for himself and instead prefers to concentrate on improving his poker skills on a daily basis.
Improving poker skill also comes hand in hand with managing emotions at the tables, and Sascha Walter credits the book Poker Mindset as being instrumental in helping him improve as a player.
“This book has really helped me minimise tilt and play longer and more consistently. Learning strategy and playing good poker isn’t all that hard to a certain level, but keeping my emotions under control every day is one of the toughest challenges for me poker wise.”
“Everybody can play poker when they’re running hot, but sticking to your A-Game even when you lose ten buy-ins per hour when you were always ahead distinguishes the good and the great players. Unfortunately I’m still tilting occasionally, but I’m trying to constantly improve.”
Congratulations to Sascha ‘locodice’ Walter on his new sponsorship deal at PKR and we wish him continued success in the future.
