Sam Trickett Has Best Online Poker Session Ever
September 14, 2012 10:57 amWhat a 2012 UK pro Sam Trickett is having as he continues to elevate his own poker bar and break personal records. This year, the 26 year old from Nottinghamshire has already earned $11,166,185 from live tournaments, including placing 2nd at the $1 million WSOP One Drop for $10.1 million, to elevate his life time tournament winnings to a staggering $17,470,281.
However, Sam Trickett is also a top cash game player and is reputed to have won millions playing in the Macau Big Game, where he says the biggest winning session he has had netted him HKD $15 million ($1.93m). Now it looks like Trickett has recorded his best ever online day, too, and later tweeted:
“Best ever day online today! #keepthatfireburning #peakingyo”
Although the $265,315 he won yesterday playing $50/$100, $100/$200 and $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha games pale in comparison to his live scores, it still shows Trickett is managing to constantly adapt and win no matter which poker terrain he finds himself. The UK pro’s latest record came courtesy of a 2,171 hand session on PokerStars, with the biggest pot worth $100,415 against Patpatman. Overall, Sam “tr1cky7” Trickett is now in profit by $178,001 at PokerStars since April 2011, according to the HSDB.
Nevertheless, it has not been all roses since the immensely talented player took up the game. After making a name for himself on the UK circuit, Trickett then went broke during the 2009 WSOP. As Trickett explains:
“Yes, in 2009. I dusted off a £150k bankroll in the space of a few months, which left me flat broke and unable to play without backing. It was caused from playing in high stakes PLO games when I was still learning the game and I had a bad habit playing roulette and blackjack which is where I lost a lot as well.”
Following that tough experience, Sam Trickett subsequently spent some time in South Africa working extremely hard on his game and he has been a consistent winner in tournaments and cash games ever since.
