While we do expect to maintain an interest in poker moving forward through a variety of poker markets for popular European and worldwide events, Matchbook now looks to focus on its core business as a sports betting exchange.”
Heaping praise upon their association with Sam Trickett, the spokesman added that Trickett proved a huge asset for Matchbook and that they were honoured to have had Trickett representing the site. He also highlighted the magnitude of Trickett’s achievements and said it wouldn’t be long before one of the big poker sites offered him a new sponsorship deal. In the meantime, Trickett has already become an ambassador for the International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT).
A last chance to see Trickett representing can be seen later this year on UK TV, when a documentary charting Trickett’s rise to poker prominence, as well as his involvement in the WSOP One Drop tournament, will be released. Commenting on his time with Matchbox, Sam Trickett said:
“I’m extremely grateful to have been given the opportunity to compete in the biggest tournament in this history of poker and it was an experience that will live for me forever..It’s been a lot of fun filming this and I’m looking forward to seeing the outcome myself.”
