Poker Tweets: Negreanu Calls Hellmuth "All Talk No Action"

Negreanu Calls Hellmuth "All Talk No Action"For many years, German players have been a force to be reckoned with in the poker world, with a recent strong performance by players such as Steffen Sontheimer and Fedor Holz at last month’s Poker Masters ultimate high roller series helping to further stamp their authority on the game.
The German’s ongoing success even prompted Daniel Negreanu to try baiting 14-times WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth with a tweet, calling him “delusional” for still believing that he was the number one seed when it comes to No-Limit Hold’em tournament. It didn’t take long before Helmuth retorted by calling Negreanu the delusional one, prompting Negreanu to tweet:
“I’m not embarrassed to say I don’t think I’m as good as these guys. They are unreal. In order to improve you have to humble yourself & learn.”
Fast forward a few weeks, and Negreanu has taken aim at Hellmuth once more, this time tweeting:
“I’m hearing @phil_hellmuth is backing out of playing against the Germans on Poker After Dark? True story Phil? Man, all talk no action!”
Negreanu obviously seems unable to let the whole Phil Hellmuth versus the Germans debate which he started lie, and before long Hellmuth retorted by calling Negreanu out for his fake spin on the news, writing:
“Now Daniel, I NEVER committed to those dates, and you know it (as do folks at Poker After Dark). You would never lie intentionally, right?”
In the meantime, the comment exchange attracted the attention of the wider poker community, with some of the choice tweets posted as follows:
Shaun Deeb
“Every year [Negreanu] I wonder if your continued success will bring you to maturity but each year you regress.”
Christopher Collins
“Daniels cheese has slipped from his cracker lately; haven’t you heard/read the libtard Canadian daily dribble? Carry on Phil”
Little Frenchy
“Notthern Europeans = Poker Brat kyptonite”
Gerpez
“It’s obvious @RealKidPoker is just an insecure closeted man child trying to look cool in font of ze Germans.”
Nik
“Hellmuth bullies ppl for living so you don’t worry buddy”
Other Tweets
Aside from Negreanu’s and Hellmuth’s ongoing niggling and debate, here are some other notable tweets coming from some of the game’s top pros over the past week:
Andy Frankenberger
“I’ve been saying this for years — re-entries are the problem. Tougher for amateurs to win, easier for pros to go broke.”
Eugene Katchalov
“After traveling as much as I have, every morning as I wake up there is always this 2-3 sec window where I have to actively remember where I currently am.”
Kevin MacPhee
“Shocked & saddened to hear about the passing of Portuguese EPT regular Ayaz Manji. He had a passion for poker that was infectious RIP. Ayaz always was joking, smiling, happy & always went out of his way to hello and share a hh/story. You will be missed my friend…”
