Poker Tweets: Happy New Year!
January 1, 2018 3:40 pmAs 2017 drew to a close last night, a number of poker pros took time off from their celebrations to post updates as to their movements, as well as tweet a few best wishes messages to their fans. One of them was Phil Hellmuth, who seems to have spent as much time in fancy dress constumes this year than his usual outfits.
This time around, Hellmuth and his wife got dressed up as Beauty and the Beast, although it seemed a bit vain even for the 53 year-old pro to point out that his wife was Beauty. As Hellmuth tweeted:
“HNY!! Tale as old as time, tune as old as song, bittersweet and strange, finding you can change, learning you were wrong…Beauty and The Beast!” #PHBeast #WifeIsBeauty #Celebrating2017 #BringingIn2018 #POSITIVITY”
It didn’t then take long for Shaun Deeb to chime in with a revamped title of “Beauty and the brat“, while a tweeter by the name of Play More Live Poker seemed more concerned about Hellmuth’s close relationship with the Aria Resort Las Vegas, writing:
“Does @AriaLV know you took the hat off? Are they ok with it?”
Elsewhere, Todd Brunson seems to have enjoyed a truly international themed evening, tweeting that he spent his” New Years at an Italian restaurant on the outskirts of china town with a bunch of Japs. #America”. Dan O’Brien, too, seemed to appreciate a greeting from a friend living on the other side of the planet, as well as the sense of togetherness felt at this time of year, writing:
“Woke up in Las Vegas to a “Happy New Year” text from an Australian friend. Nice reminder of how technology has rendered vast distances much less significant.”
Meanwhile, here are some other New Year messages coming from some of your favorite pros over the celebratory period:
Joe Stapleton
“Thought maybe I was going to have one last chance at romance in 2017 with the girl sitting next to me on this flight….but her carry-on is a cat. Also, she said no.”
Jake Cody
“Spending New Years Eve with this little one wrapped around my arm”
Jamie Kerstetter
“I’m now too drunk to give you the expert life counseling that you all deserve. So uhhh, drink more water everyone. Happy New Year!”
Sam Trickett
“Happy New Year to everyone. All the best for 2018″
