NBA champion Tony Parker Signs with Poker Site BetClicNBA champion Tony Parker has signed a three-year deal to represent French poker site BetClic and will now join a sports line-up which includes Marcel Desailly, Stefan Effenberg and Kiko Narvaez.
William Anthony “Tony” Parker is a French national basketball team player who turned professional in 1999 after signing with the now defunct Paris Basket Racing. He then entered the NBA Draft in 2001, after which he was selected to play point guard for the San Antonio Spurs and helped them to win three NBA Championships in 2003, 2005 and 2007.
Outside of basketball, Parker is best known for his marriage to Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria, and having taken part in a number of high profile charity poker events together, as well as the World Series of Poker. Parker also has a strong interest in hip-hop and rap music and released his debut album entitled “TP” in 2007, with the track “Balance-toi” reaching number 1 in the French charts.
Following news of his signing with BetClic, the 27-year-old point guard commented: “A great adventure begins. BetClic is a leading company with big ambitions and I am very happy to contribute to its development in the sport during the coming years.”
BetClic is an upcoming poker and sportsbook site, which was created in 2005 by Nicolas Beraud. The French based site boasts a large customer base, particularly in the European online gaming market, and has added Expekt and Everest Poker to its operation. After the site announced Tony Parker’s signing, Nicolas Beraud announced:
“We are delighted to welcome Tony Parker in the team BetClic. He is a great ambassador for the brand. Tony represents the strong values of excellence and ethics in sports that we share. This new partnership reflects our commitment to continue our development in the sport by adding great champions to our team.”
