Matt Marafioti Safe and Refuting Mental Health Issues

Matt Marafioti disappeared off the radar back in June during the World Series of Poker, with concerns over the state of his mental health subsequently sparking his friends and family to file a missing persons report. Fortunately on August 1st, a full forty-five days later, the Canadian poker pro has now turned up safe claiming to have spent the intervening time camping, and generally enjoying his “summer in peace and quiet”.
One of the people to have originally sounded the alarm over Marafioti’s whereabouts was fellow poker pro Randy Dorfman, who apparently contacted an investigator to track down Marafioti at the request of the player’s family. Since resurfacing, however, Matt Marafioti has denounced the poker landscape as a “very seedy, one-sided community,” and furthermore stated that Dorfman was no friend of his, going so far as to call him “an ex Wall Street, Miami swinger club owning, SCUMBAG mobster who happens to be Jewish so please stop HARASSING me/publicly lying.”
Tweeting his response to the verbal attack, Dorfman stated that it was apparent that Marafioti “suffers severe mental illness’ and is ‘DESPERATELY’ in need of help. Whether or not Marafioti is suffering some sort of breakdown or paranoid episode is unclear, but on Jan 16, 2016 he attracted a great deal of attention from the poker community after he released a You Tube video entitled “Matt Marafioti Is Being Framed By The Illuminati, Italian, And Jewish Mobs Because Of Drake.”
In his latest video, however, Marafioti, tries to lay concerns over his mental health to bed, with an extract from his video explaining:
“To be honest, I find the poker community to be a very seeded, one-sided community. So with that being said, I chose to remove myself from the situation in order to grant myself the peace and happiness I deserve, which I live in every single day. So I’m just moving on with my life in a completely positive and happy manner.”
Throughout his poker career, Matt Marafioti has won $2,771,146 from live tournaments, as well as a further
$2,984,909 playing online under the screen name ‘Adzizzy’.
