Martin Jacobson Becomes an 888poker Ambassador
December 27, 2017 12:41 pmOver the holiday period, 888Poker took the opportunity to announce that its latest recruit to join the site as a brand ambassador was none other than the 2014 WSOP Main Event champion Martin Jacobson. Sweden’s all-time money earner now joins an impressive roster of pros which includes the likes of Chris Moorman, Dominik Nitsche, as well as Kara Scott, and Twitch star Parker ‘Tonkaaaa” Talbot.
Following announcement of the news, the 30-year old pro said that he was excited to join a site which has proven itself to be one of the industry’s major innovators, in no small part thanks to its willingness to listen to its players and act upon their feedback accordingly. Commenting further, Jacobson stated:
“888poker and I have a mutual interest to make poker great again in taking back the game. 888poker’s goal is to host prestigious events with huge guarantees affordable to anyone by providing a wide range of buy-ins along with satellites to all tournaments.”
This fits in well with Jacobson’s poker lifestyle as since winning the 2014 WSOP Main Event for $10 million he has continued to be active on the tournament circuit and now boasts a total of $16,505,894 in career earnings. Furthermore, $1,294,186 of that amount was won this year alone, with his biggest score of 2017 coming after finishing 6th at the $111,111 WSOP High Roller for One Drop for $641,382.
In addition to amassing heaps of money playing poker, Jacobson is also a big donator to charity and after winning the Main Event donated a quarter of a million dollars to Animal Charity Evaluators (ACE). He also actively supports Raising for Effective Giving (REG), and said that working with 888poker would give him a platform to further promote such charities.
“888poker see the importance of charitable contributions and are looking to integrate it as a standard fixture in all of their LIVE events. This statement of intent is something I value highly, and therefore I’m incredibly excited to come on board.”
Finally, Martin Jacobson said that he was looking forward to sharing his knowledge and experience with other players on the site in order to help improve their games and “realize their dream of starting from the bottom and eventually becoming a World Champion.”
