Jake Cody Joins Team PKR ProIt has been announced that the UK poker prodigy Jake Cody has just signed a deal to become the latest member of Team PKR Pro.
Commenting on his sponsorship deal with the award winning 3-D poker site, Cody said:
“I’m very excited about joining Team PKR Pro. I’ve been patient with sponsorship, waiting for the right deal to come along. When I spoke to PKR I was really impressed with the whole setup and the ideas that they have going forward, and I knew straight away I wanted to be part of it! It’s a great site to be involved with right now and I think I can help take it to the next level.”
The poker career of the 22 year old from Rochdale, England, began in 2007 when he first started playing online. Cody has since gone on to earn $671,985 under the screen name ‘neverbluff67,’ but his results in the live arena are even more impressive.
After a couple of minor cashes, Jake Cody’s live tournament career took off in January, 2010, when he emerged atop of a field of 768 players at the €5k EPT Deauville Main Event for a massive €857,000 ($1,215,034) payday.
The same year he then went on to capture the £5k WPT London event for £273,783 ($445,901) and this year the WSOP $25k Heads-Up Poker Championship for $851,192, thus completing a prestigious ‘Triple Crown.’
The young poker pro has now amassed a total of $2,908,562 from live tournaments, and will become the highest profile member of Team PKR Pro. The other members of the team include Vladimir “Beyne” Geshkenbein, James “james666” Sudworth, Sascha “Iocodice” Walter, Scott “PKR_Scott” Shelley, Marc “Waswini” Barillier and Sofia “wellbet” Lovgren.
Commenting on their latest recruit, PKR Marketing Director Simon Prodger said:
