Isildur1 $256k In Profit Since Joining PokerStars
August 19, 2011 5:06 amSince joining PokerStars in December, 2010, high-stakes pro Viktor “Isildur1” Blom has seen his profits rise and fall roughly within the +/-$400k range, with the Swede currently showing a profit of $256k, according to highstakesdb.
Up until Tuesday, Blom found himself down $111k on the site over an eight month period, but his recent upswing came after playing a 1,789 hand session lasting five hours at PokerStars, at the end of which he had booked a huge $397k profit.
Interestingly, Blom chose to stay away from the $100/$200 and $200/$400 tables in favour of the $25/$50 to $50/$100 PLO action.
Starting his session against Sauce123, Blom played around 1,100 hands of $25/$50 PLO, winning 137k or 27 buy-ins in the process against his regular opponent.
Five hours later, and Blom came off a break to notch up a further 800 hands of $50/$100 PLO against PepperoniF, to add a further $115k to his tally.
Viktor “Isildur1” Blom then rounded off his session with 200 hands of $50/$100 PLO against Ilari “Ilari FIN” for $130k, to take his winning total on the day to almost $400k.
Despite his rather swingy results at PokerStars, Isildur1 came to the site widely considered to be one of the best No Limit heads-up players in the game. Blom has subsequently been show-casing his talent as part of a series of mini-challenges organised by PokerStars known as the Superstar Showdown.
The Swede has since amply demonstrated his unique skills, having beaten 9 out of 10 opponents so far, to book a $651,486 profit overall. Blom’s only defeat came in December last year when he lost to Isaac Haxton in his first Superstar Challenge.
