Daniel Negreanu Admits He Is Going Bald

In a frank admission on his fullcontactpoker blog recently, poker superstar Daniel Negreanu has admitted to losing his hair and to be now considering a whole range of hair growth options.
Back in January 2007, Negreanu shaved his hair completely off and commented on his blog at the time; “You have to be a little kooky to just shave your head for the sake of shaving your head, and luckily for me, I’m often a weird dude that does bizarre things for no apparent reason.”
Although he also claimed to have shaven his hair at the time to represent a fresh start to the new year, many poker fans on the online forums were not so convinced with one poster commenting:
“He shaved his head for the same reason i did..his front hairline is receding..don’t know why he’s fooling himself…he was losing his hair in the front and did the same thing i did.”
Almost four years later and Daniel seems to have come to terms with his thinning locks and wrote in his blog on the sidelines of WSOP Europe 2010:

“Been surfing the internet studying various hair growth options lol. Anything from Provillus to Propecia, transplants to hair combs! Whole bunch of random crazy options to try and regrow hair.”
“I started using Rogaine like a month ago, and I swear it feels like my hair is just falling out since I started! I read up on it and they said you “shed” the first two weeks and new healthier hair grows in it’s place. They said it’s a “good thing,” but man it’s scary!”
“Propecia I’d NEVER EVER try, because the side effects can be brutal and irreversible. Yeah it works, but it can cause another very important part of your body to shut down, and I ain’t about to risk that! No chance.”
Thinning hair is often a sensitive subject for the sufferer, especially in the earlier stages of their hair loss. In fact, some people will go to great lengths to disguise the fact by incorporating what is commonly called a comb over style. This practice dates back many centuries and includes the 3rd century AD Emperor Constantine to modern day mogul Donald Trump.
However, I wouldn’t be surprised if various top hair loss specialist companies contacted Daniel soon promising him a full bouffant in exchange for some publicity.
If that doesn’t work Daniel could do worse than follow the examples of such bald celebrities as Bruce Willis, Billy Zane, Patrick Stewart and of course Negreanu’s near twin Andre Agassi.
