British Poker Awards Honours Trickett, Moorman, And BoatmanOn Monday, the British Poker awards were hosted at the London Hippodrome with the cream of the UK poker world turning out for the eighteen awards ceremony. After a cocktail reception, the ceremony complete with live entertainment got underway with 13 of the 18 awards having been decided by public votes, and the other 5 by a panel of judges.
Ahead of the Bluff Europe Magazine and PokerStars.com sponsored annual event, Bluff Europe Magazine Editor in Chief, Michael Caselli, commented:
“There isn’t really any other event that brings players, industry and the public into one room to celebrate the achievements of poker. As an annual event we are always trying to outdo ourselves, and this year, with the help of PokerStars.com and The Hippodrome Casino, I am sure we will.”
The British Poker Awards subsequently did not disappoint, with the glitzy night then honouring PokerStars in a number of categories, including the Best UK Tournament (EPT London) and the Best Tournament Director (Toby Stone). In addition, PokerStars also had three of its sponsored pros pick up awards, including Daniel Negreanu (Best International Player), Victoria Coren (Best Social Media User), and Alex “Kanu7” Millar (Best Online Cash Player). Liv Boeree also managed to pick up a couple of awards, but only on behalf of Negreanu and Toby Stone, who were unable to attend the event.
Other stars of the British poker scene collecting honours were Sam Trickett (Best Live Tournament Player & Best Live Cash Player), Chris Moorman (Best Online Tournament Player), Barny Boatman (Performance of the Year), and Neil Channing (Best Blogger);
