The 22-year-old pro from Gottingen, Germany, started his PokerStars career a couple of years ago playing nine-man SNGs , but has since become one of theĀ site’s top heads-up sit-and-go specialists.
Bjorn Schneider started out playing $5 SNGs, but by the beginning of this year had moved on to $100 SNGs, and now approaching the end of the year he is currently playing almost exclusively $5k heads-up sit-and-gos.
Schneider has also been ratcheting up VIP Player Points (VPP) along the way and one month made more than 600,000 VPPs. Currently on a tally of 2,700,000 for 2011, Schneider is fast threatening to overtake the annual record set by Kevin ‘WizardOfAhhs’ Thurman of 3,055,385 VPPs, with still a month remaining.
A quick glance of Bjorn “Bjoerni89” Schneider’s statistics on PokerOptimizer may show a loss of $84,044 over 8,357 games with a ROI of -0.3% ROI, but the high amount of rakeback he receivesĀ is more than enough to produce a healthy profit for the young pro.
In addition to his heads-up sit-and-go prowess, Schneider has also found success in other formats of poker and even placed 4th at a $215 Sunday Warm-Up, receiving more than $50,000 for his deep run.
