Annie Duke Is A "F***ing C***" According To Daniel Negreanu

Never one to hold back on saying what he’s thinking, Daniel Negreanu seems to have over stepped the mark by a mile this time after referring to Annie Duke as a  “f***ing c***.”
Negreanu’s outburst came during an interview with Poker Player.co.uk, while discussing the ladies event at this year’s WSOP. At the time Negreanu attacked several male players’ decision to enter the event, after which Annie Duke decided to defend the men’s right to enter the lady’s tournament.
Back in June, Negreanu vented his annoyance at Duke’s stance on the subject as well as her self appointed title of “best female poker player in the world.” However, this time Negreanu went a step further, saying:
“So I’m like ‘how offensive are you, you f***ing c***? You want to say you’re speaking for women, yet you claim superiority over all of them.”
Daniel Negreanu is no stranger to controversy and past faux pas include calling into question the merit of a tv network calling themselves the Black Entertainment Television network (BET) when a White Entertainment Television network would be considered racist.
Negreanu also recently criticised the CEREUS network for not shutting down after a breach in their network security was discovered, and called poker players wearing sunglasses as possible cheats.
However, that does seem to be part of his outspoken and open nature and although his opinions will not be welcome by all, the poker industry has become acclimatised to his rants over the years.
Responding to his latest attack against her, Annie Duke wrote via Twitter:
“Thank you for the support. I was certainly shocked at the language myself. I welcome criticism but not abuse.”
Shocked or otherwise Duke is no stranger to controversy herself and is unlikely to be overly perturbed by Negreanu’s harsh words. In the past, she shrugged off criticism from Joan Rivers, who compared her to Adolf Hitler, and accused her of being two faced and having mafia connections.
The poker forums are also awash with posters venting their ire on Duke on a whole range of subjects from breaches in poker etiquette to downright rudeness.
Whereas arguments and disagreements between players is often part of the game, the most shocking part of this latest incident has to be Daniel’s unfortunate choice of words.
