XL Winter Series coming to 888poker

The annual XL Winter Series is coming to 888poker later this month with over $2 million in guaranteed prize pools.

The XL Winter Series kicks off on January 14 and runs until January 30 with 35 numbered events and plenty of smaller events on the schedule.

The first numbered event on the XL Winter Series schedule is the appropriately named Mini Opening on January 14. It has a $55 buy-in and a $40,000 prize pool. On the same day there is also the Opening event with a $109 buy-in and a $120,000 guarantee, and the more expensive High Roller Opening which has a rich $525 buy-in and a $50,000 guarantee.

Several of the tournaments during the XL Winter Series are bounty tournaments, which gives players that chance to win cash by finishing within the bubble and by knocking out their opponents. A few other varieties that are available in the series include 6-Max Mini events, mystery bounty events, PKOs, and Turbo events.

There are two main events during this year’s XL Winter Series. Both are Mystery Bounty tournaments with very different buy-ins. The Mystery Bounty Mini-Main Event has multiple Day 1s available throughout the series. The Mini has a very affordable $25 buy-in and a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The Mystery Bounty Main Event will cost you a little bit more to enter as it has the highest buy-in during the series at $888. It also had the highest guarantee at cool $1 million. If you don’t have $888 to spare to enter the main event there are satellite qualifiers running daily and some of them are free to enter.
