WPT Season XX hits the felt in January
December 8, 2021 8:06 pmThe World Poker Tour has announced that WPT Season XX will kick off in January at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida with the Lucky Hearts Poker Open.

When does WPT Season XX begin?
The first Main Event on the Season XX schedule is the $3,500 Lucky Hearts Poker Open. The Main Event will feature a $2 million guarantee. This will be the seventh edition of the Lucky Hearts.
Last year’s Lucky Hearts had 1,573 entries for a prize pool just over $5 million. The last man standing in the event was Ilyas Muradi who cashed $620,000 and won his first career WPT title.
The next stop during WPT Season XX following the Hard Rock is still unknown The WPT has not yet announced the rest of the schedule for Season XX, but some of the venues that will host WPT events have been revealed. Included in Season XX will be the Choctaw Casino in Oklahoma. Casino Sochi in Russia, King’s Casino in the Czech Republic, and the Venetian Casino in Las Vegas.
Of course, before Season XX can begin the WPT has to finish up Season XIX. The final event of Season XIX, the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic, begins later this month on December 15 at the Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The Main Event will have a $10,000 buy-in with the final table scheduled for December 19.
Due to the pandemic the last WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic was held in December, 2019. The event had a 1,035-player field and Alex Foxen outlasted them all to cash $1,694,995.
