New poker options coming to Pennsylvania?

WSOP Distances Itself From DraftKings

Poker players in Pennsylvania may soon have two new online poker options.

It has been reported that DraftKings is looking into launching their Electric Poker platform in Pennsylvania. DraftKings is new to the poker game and just launched for the first time in Michigan in August.

Electric Poker offers only fast-paced no-limit hold’em sit and go tournaments, that are limited to three players. The short-handed tournaments have buy-in levels that range from $1 to $25 and offer prize multipliers that go up to 10 times the buy-in.

DraftKings has not officially announced if they will expand Electric Poker to other states, or if they will expand the Electric Poker offerings to include more than just short-handed sit and go tournaments.

DraftKings isn’t the only poker operator interested in getting into Pennsylvania. It has also been reported that Rush Street Interactive has been testing its BetRivers poker platform in Pennsylvania with real-money players. This could be the initial steps to a full launch in the state.

Currently the only online poker operators in Pennsylvania are WSOP.com, PokerStars, and BetMGM which is played under the Borgata Poker skin.

One thing that could potentially increase online poker operator’s interest in Pennsylvania would be the state joining the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement. Pennsylvania remains outside the agreement which currently includes Delaware, New Jersey, Nevada, and Michigan.

While those four states are all part of the agreement not all operators share players in every state yet, and Delaware currently does not offer online poker following the departure of 888 from the state.
